ARK: Survival Evolved is a favorite among fans of the survival crafting sandbox genre, and almost everyone has found themselves as a nearly naked character on the shores of this mysterious world... only to be eaten by a dinosaur 5 minutes later.

For years, the fan community has enjoyed this title, which even after many years still captivates several 10,000 people every day.

Experience a living world

First create your character according to your wishes and then start your journey in this primeval world. Start at the very beginning by crafting your first tools and weapons to get materials for your shelter. Always be on guard against the dangers of the wilderness. The world of ARK is bursting with life. When you start the game, you'll immediately see some dinos and other creatures in the distance, which are usually not friendly to you.

By actively crafting items and collecting materials in the world, you'll level up your character and have the possibility to learn new recipes for better tools, weapons, armor and much more. Thanks to improved equipment, you'll be able to venture deeper into the world and discover its secrets.

Experience a far-reaching story

ARK: Survival Evolved is not only about crafting and survival. As you explore the world, you'll be drawn piece by piece into a mysterious story that will unfold over time to an extent you'd never expect. Through a whole series of official expansions, the story has been developed further and further, until it reached its glorious conclusion with the expansion Genesis 2. Until that point, however, it's a long journey with countless hours of gameplay.

Non-canon Official Maps

ARK: Survival Evolved offers a number of other maps in addition to the official expansions, which are not canon from a story perspective. These maps started out as creations of modders, and were so good in the end that developer Wildcard, in cooperation with the modders, included them as official maps in the game. This allowed the entire community to enjoy these maps.

The Center

The first official non-canon map created by modder Ben "EvilMrFrank" Burkart. Highlights of the map include a large natural bridge connecting the snow biome with the redwood biome, a huge ocean, two underwater domes that can be used as bases and the name-giving floating island "The Center".

Ragnarok

The map named after the nordic apocalypse, was the next to be added to the official maps. Unfortunately, this map was never 100% finished, so even today some aspects are still unfinished. However, this does not detract from the popularity and quality of the map. Highlights include an active volcano that can erupt and even rain meteors from the sky, ruins and sunken Viking boats, and occasional storms.

Valguero

As the first of the non-canon maps, Valguero introduced a completely new creature to the game: The Deinonychus. This dinosaur creates nests all over the map and stealing an egg from these nests is the only way to tame such a dinosaur. The creators ButtMan, Nekatus, Trappel22 and Evolanca have also added other visual highlights to the map, such as rainbows, aurora borealis and shooting stars.

Crystal Isles

On the Crystal Isles Map, created by Isolde Gaming, Lillian and iSPEZZ, you can encounter explosive Tropeognathus, majestic Crystal Wyverns and gigantic bees, among others, in the vastness of this landscape. Other features of the map include an island constantly shrouded in darkness and storms, a giant beehive in the form of a cave and a collection of floating islands.

Lost Island

"Lost Island" (by Alexand90575037) brought 3 new unique monsters: the slow but powerful Amargasaurus, the primate-like and aggressive Dinopithecus and the cute Sinomacrops. Furthermore, the map features a huge city ruin, several ships in the oceans, lava streams, wyvern trenches and a mysterious lake completely filled with black pearls.

Fjordur

The latest addition to the official maps is called Fjordur and has taken the hearts of the community by storm. Creator Nekatus has created a fantastic map based on Norse mythology, featuring a total of 4 islands called Vardiland, Vannaland, Bolbjord and Balheimr, as well as the 3 mystical realms of Jotunheim, Vanaheim and Asgard. In addition, there are 4 unique monsters: the Fjordhawk, the Desmodus, the Andrewsarchus and Fenrir. There's no getting around this map.
