FS25: ways to earn a lot of money
If you want to be a successful farmer, there are several ways to earn money effectively in Farming Simulator 25. Find out which five methods are particularly profitable and worthwhile in the following blog article.
Silage, the classic profit maker
The first method is one of the most reliable, as silage is primarily made from grass or chopped material such as corn. Silage is primarily used to produce the total mixed ration, but can also be sold to biogas plants or livestock dealers. You can make silage from grass either from bales or in silage clamps, while you need a silage clamp for chopped material.
Because grass grows quickly, requires little maintenance and can be harvested several times a year, silage is a good and steady source of income - silage is a good option if you need a large sum of money quickly, for example for investments. Grass is mowed to make silage, and the chopped material must be processed with a forage harvester before it has reached the final growth phase. Now you have three options: You can either finish fermenting grass in silage bales or in a clamp silo and the chopped material must be fermented in a clamp silo. You can then take the finished silage either to the livestock dealer or to the biogas plant, where you can see an extreme increase in value. Of course, you can also use your home-made silage yourself for further processing into a total mixed ration.
Rice as a high-yielding crop
With the release of Farming Simulator 25, rice and long-grain rice were added to the game and are a welcome change from the previous crops - not to mention that the yield from rice is quite attractive. To find out all about Long grain rice and rice in FS25, you are welcome to take a look at our corresponding blog article.
Although there are two different types of rice, we would recommend the normal rice for faster profits, as it yields significantly more than the long-grain rice. However, we have to say straight away that growing rice involves a bit of work and you always have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't dry out or spoil, and the preparation for planting the rice seedlings is also not to be sneezed at - you also need a new machine for this. However, with an average profit of over €3,000 per 1,000 liters, this should be a rather minor problem. If you want to increase the value further, you can of course also process the rice yourself.
High profit through forestry
If you are tired of working in the fields in Farming Simulator 25, forestry may be a good alternative for you. Here, too, you have several options, as you can sell the logs themselves, buy a sawmill and possibly a carpenter to process your logs into furniture yourself, or you can process the wood into wood chips. Depending on which option you choose, you should plant different trees, as not all of them are suitable for processing into furniture. We have also already covered the topic Forestry in FS25 and you can read about it in our blog.
If you want to make woodchips, you should plant deciduous trees such as birch or oak. These don't grow as tall and have a lot of branches in the crown, which is perfect for woodchippings. As soon as the trees have finished growing, you need to cut them down and chop them up in a chipper. If you prefer to sell logs as such or to a sawmill, desert and coastal pine are the best choice. These trees grow very tall and straight, which is perfect for processing into planks and ultimately into furniture. The trunks themselves also fetch several thousand euros, depending on the quality.
Poplars: a not-so-secret insider tip
If you haven't stumbled across the tip about poplars yet, let's make up for it as soon as possible. But we have to say one thing straight away: In order to plant and harvest poplars, you need to purchase machines that are quite expensive. Firstly, there is a machine for planting the poplars, then you have the option of working with a baler for harvesting, or you can chop the poplars. You can use the following machines for the entire poplar process:
- Damcon PL-75 for sowing the poplars
- Lacotec LH II forage harvester
- A tractor with at least 375 PS for the forage harvester, if you don't already own one
- New Holland 130FB poplar header
- A large trailer in which you can collect and transport the woodchippings or in which you can store your bales
- Biobaler WB-55 baler from Anderson
All you need to successfully grow poplars is a very large field with plenty of free space around it, a good hand for care, because the field must be well prepared and the poplars must be properly fertilized for a good yield - but above all you need one thing: PATIENCE. Poplars take over a year to grow, but fortunately they can't spoil in the process. You can sow them from March and usually get the highest yield around January. Once you have planted the poplars, you can harvest them up to three times and only then should you plow and sow again, always paying close attention to the field information. Depending on when you sell the woodchippings, you can expect a price of up to €1,600 per 1,000 liters, which is quite nice. You can also use the AI helpers and GPS in FS25 and generate an almost automatic source of income with the poplars.
Higher profits thanks to production chains
The last method we would like to introduce to you as a profitable source of income are production chains. In the long term, you can make stable profits with them, especially if you don't just want to sell your own products, but process them further and thus significantly increase their value. The Farming Simulator 25 Production Chains are of course not suitable for absolute beginners, but as soon as you have some money, you should at least take a look at this option.
Combinations of matching production chains, such as the grain mill and bakery, are particularly worthwhile so that you can process your grain into flour and then into cakes and bread. Or if you're more the heavy artillery type, you can set up your own sawmill and carpentry workshop. Here you can process your wood into planks and use them to make furniture that can easily reach the 5-digit price segment.
