Enter a Teleportastic Chorus Fruit Journey
Welcome to the wonderful, wacky world of the chorus fruit in Minecraft, where your snack is also your teleportation ticket.
The Chorus Fruit – Purple Power-Up You Didn’t Know You Needed
If you're looking for an ingredient that’s as mysterious as it is useful, you’re in the right place. Let’s dive into everything you need to know about these peculiar purple delights!
What Is a Minecraft Chorus Fruit?
The chorus fruit is a unique item found in the End dimension. It drops from chorus plants, which grow in the outer islands of the End. These plants look like spindly cacti sprouting bulbous purple cubes – perfectly alien and oh-so-minecrafty. To obtain a chorus fruit in Minecraft, simply break the plant and it’ll drop this funky fruit.
Let’s Check on How to Plant Chorus Fruit in Minecraft!
So what to do if you want to stack up your chorus fruit supply? Sure, the plants grow in abundance in the End, but surely you don’t want to make the trip there every time. Luckily, there’s an easy solution – you can just grow chorus plants yourself at home. Do you want to know how to farm the chorus fruit in Minecraft? You’ll need:
- chorus flowers
- end stone
All you need is to grab a chorus flower, which can be found on top of the plants. Just break the plant at the bottom and all blocks above will drop. While you’re there, make sure to collect some end stone, to plant the flower on. Once at your designated spot, just place the chorus flower on the end stone and you’re done. Now you just have to wait until the plant has grown to harvest your homegrown purple snack.
Minecraft Chorus Fruit Uses – It’s More Than Just Planting
Besides being a tasty snack on the go, the Minecraft chorus fruit has some other practical uses you should be aware of. Surely, a chorus fruit can be eaten. Each fruit restores 4 hunger points and 2.4 hunger saturation. While this doesn’t make it the best food to fill up your hunger bar, it still serves as a valuable option for your End dimension travels, where food may be scarce. Just beware of the teleportation, or you may end up somewhere you don't want to be!
It’s Life-Saving Teleportation Effect
Yes, you read that correctly: teleportation! One of the most interesting and fun properties of the chorus fruit is its ability to teleport the player when eaten. Upon consumption, you will be randomly teleported to another block within 8 blocks in every direction from your original position. The chosen block can’t be water or lava, however, it is possible that you land on fire, cacti or magma blocks. This makes the Minecraft chorus fruit a useful tool for quick escapes, especially when you find yourself in dangerous situations, such as surrounded by endermen or other hostile mobs. It may also be used for fun mechanics on a server or to mess with your friends.
Just keep in mind: once consumed, chorus fruits have a 1 second cooldown before you can use another one. It is indicated by a white overlay in the hotbar and it is applied to all chorus fruits in the inventory.
Fun Fact:
You may know that foxes can hold items in their mouths. When a fox gets hold of a chorus fruit, it eats it and teleports the same way a player would. So be aware of that if you’ve got a fox as a pet in your world.
Also, in the End, teleportation is particularly useful since the teleportation also negates any fall damage. Imagine you just got kicked off the edge of an island by an enderman (or just fell off while bridging between islands because you accidentally let go of the sneak button — don’t pretend, it has happened to all of us) and are falling to yur death. Just quickly eat a chorus fruit and you’ll be teleported back onto a safe block, saving you and all your items from the void!
Smelting & Crafting with the Chorus Fruit?
It sounds kind of weird, doesn’t it? Of course, food is sometimes used in recipes, but for smelting? Well, it is not particularly the main process. And you can’t really craft a lot with it, either. But let’s start at the beginning! To use the chorus fruit for crating purposes you need to first smelt it by putting it in a furnace with any fuel. This will result in a popped chorus fruit. Now, this new item is inedible, but the one you need for the following crafting processes:
- Placing a blaze rod above the popped chorus fruit in the crafting grid results in an end rod, which can be used as an alternative lighting source to lanterns or torches for your base.
- With 4x popped chorus fruits you can craft purpur blocks, the very blocks End cities are made of. The purpur block can be further crafted into slabs to give you even more variation for your builds.
You see, the chorus fruit is one of Minecraft’s more interesting items, combining utility, mystery and holds the potential for strategic gameplay. You may also find a way to use the teleportation effect to mess with your friends on a Minecraft server from G-Portal. With the right knowledge of how to plant chorus fruits, how to use them efficiently and understanding its role in the game, you’ll find yourself navigating the End and beyond with ease. Happy exploring, and may your Minecraft chorus fruit adventures be filled with surprise!
