V Rising Guide for Beginners

First steps - gathering resources and base building

The first important steps in V Rising are that as a newborn vampire you have to get to know the game a bit and as usual in the survival genre you have to collect a lot of resources - whether for a first base or important items. So really collect everything that comes your way - you'll be able to use it at some point.

The sun - sparkle or burn?

Of course, in V Rising you'll want to explore the map extensively and find all possible resources as quickly as possible, because V Rising gives crafting a very high priority. But there is one problem ... you are a vampire and the sun is also your enemy in the game.

You'll soon find out that V Rising also goes along with the story about vampires, and the sun does extreme damage to you, and unfortunately you don't sparkle as soon as you expose yourself to it for a few seconds. So if you want to explore the map during the day, it's recommended to secure any protection in the shade, such as under trees and behind buildings. However, be aware that the shadow moves, just like in real life.

Starting Base

Whether it's to store your painstakingly collected and crafted items or to protect yourself from players or the sun, the first base is very important. At first you can only build with plain wooden walls and no roof, but this will expand in the game as you find new blueprints and your castle won't be long in coming.

Be sure to place Mist Braziers in your base so that they can block the sun and prevent it from adding any more damage to you. Note, however, that you must keep the fires lit with bones, otherwise the flame will go out and you will no longer have protection.

A good place for your base

Of course, where you set up your base is also important. When looking for your perfect building spot, you should make sure that you don't have to take extremely long walks and find some resources in your direct vicinity.

New recipes from the bosses

As mentioned above, crafting is a core part of V Rising, so naturally you're wondering where you can get more and new recipes and blueprints. You can get new recipes after defeating a boss, so called V Bloods. For this you have to build a blood altar, where you can then choose the boss and additionally see which recipes he carries. Tip: Some of the bosses unlock additional buildings for your base and you get new magic abilities.

All important tips in the overview:

• Mist Brazier: this should be the first thing you place in your base, so that you have proper protection from the sun
• Graveyard: in the graveyard in V Rising you will encounter skeletons and zombies, both dropping bones that you will need for your Mist Braziers
• Blood Altar: build the Blood Altar in your base to start tracking certain V Bloods. You can then track down the bosses by a light trail of blood on the ground. Important: Always be sure to choose the best equipment once you go hunting for bosses!
• Weapons as tools: the weapons in V Rising also serve as tools for efficient gathering - use the right tool for the right resource to get the most out of it
• Magic: remember that you have magic abilities and they cause a lot of damage, use them often and battles will become easier
• Main mission before tasks: we all know it, the further tasks that games give you can be very appealing in some areas and make sure you get distracted from the main story, however, it is essential to continue the main mission in V Rising to make your vampire stronger
• Blood Types: there are different blood types or groups in V Rising that bring different abilities. If you drink the blood of other types, you will receive their abilities and bonuses proportionally
• Logging Out: when logging out, make sure your vampire is protected from the sun, enemies, and on PvP servers, other players, best to do this by laying in your coffin
