V Rising: New weapons - Claws, Throwing Daggers and Twinblade
The upcoming V Rising update “Invaders of Oakveil” not only brings a new biome, more bloodthirsty enemies and revised systems to the game, but also three new weapons for more variety. In the following GPORTAL blog article, we go into more detail about the claws, throwing daggers and the twinblade.
The V Rising claws - unleash your inner beast
The first of the three new weapons is designed for all vampire players who enjoy action - and anyone who has ever wanted to be Wolverine themselves. Once you have equipped the claws, you can perform three different attacks, each of which is quite powerful in its own way and offers its own advantages:
- Primary Attack: With the primary attack of the V Rising claws, you can deal multiple slashes in a row, increasing the damage, and on the third hit you can deal piercing damage, which can increase up to 3 times. With the pierce, you trigger a rupture on the target that deals 75% damage and nearby enemies also receive 50% damage
- Special Attack: The first ability of the claws (Lunge) consists of taking a large step forward in the direction of your cursor and cutting your target with the sharp claws, dealing 100% damage and piercing
- Jump: The second ability called “Skewering Leap” consists of a jump in the direction of your cursor, you jump onto your opponent, deal 100% damage and also pierce and then jump back down in the direction of your cursor - your opponent is then incapacitated for 1 second. If you don't hit your opponent, you will land on the ground after the jump and be stuck there for a short time
Like other weapons, the V Rising claws have their own legendary version called “Talons of the Lich Beast”. This weapon gives you the ability to heal yourself and even summon skeletons.
The V Rising throwing daggers - target to kill
Let's move on to the second new weapon in V Rising, which is coming to the game with the upcoming Invaders of Oakveil update: the throwing daggers. This type of weapon has never been seen before in V Rising and therefore brings a completely new dynamic with it. With the throwing knives, you have to pay attention to good positioning and still keep moving.
- Primary Attack: The primary attack of the throwing daggers is that you can throw up to 4 daggers at once, each dealing 40% damage. If you hit an opponent or another solid object with the daggers, they will remain stuck in the ground - however, you will receive a new stack of daggers every 1 second
- Special Attack: The first V Rising throwing daggers ability “Rain of Daggers” is an attack in which you jump into the air and throw 4 daggers simultaneously at your opponent or in front of you. Each dagger deals 40% damage and then remains stuck in the ground for 8 seconds. When it hits the target, the attack causes a 2-second fading snare around the opponent
- Returning Daggers: The second ability allows you to inflict a 1.5-second bind, summoning all stuck daggers to you, which deal piercing damage and 40% normal damage to enemies during this time. For each dagger that returns, you gain a stack of daggers and the cooldown of the second ability is reduced by 0.2 seconds
There is also the legendary version called “The Wraithblades”. They work great with phantasm stacks from the Illusion school, which ensures that the first ability “Rain of Daggers” deals additional damage. And the second ability to release the daggers in turn gives you phantasm stacks for each dagger you retrieved with the skill - so it all plays together beautifully.
The V Rising Twinblade - relentless elegance
The third and final new weapon in the upcoming V Rising update is the twinblade. You get two weapons in one and have to master speed, deadly combinations and rhythm. Sounds a bit like a bit of a dance, doesn't it? So let's go and whirl through enemies while leaving a battlefield in your path.
- Primary Attack: You deal 60%/60%/80% damage to enemies at close range with a combination of double attacks
- Special Attack: The first ability is called “Javelin” and consists of throwing your V Rising twinblade at your target, dealing 125% damage and a 1.5 second bind. After 2 seconds, your twinblade comes back, piercing your opponent, pulling them towards you and dealing another 80% damage. However, instead of bringing your weapon to you, you can also teleport to it to get to your opponent
- Sweeping Enemies: "Sweeping Strike" is the name of the second twinblade ability and it causes you to dash forward, impaling your opponent and spinning them through the air, with them landing behind you. This also deals 100% damage to your opponent
The legendary version of the twinblade is called “The Fate Dancers” and creates a frosty atmosphere. You are guaranteed to land cold effects on enemies and the second ability of the twinblade, Sweeping Strike, deals 50% additional damage against frozen creatures.
