More than 4 million players - and counting
Keen Games landed an absolute hit with their game! Since its launch in Early Access at the beginning of 2024, Enshrouded has enjoyed ever-growing popularity and even more than a year later, the hype is far from over. Enshrouded has grown extremely quickly and has been one of the top games on Steam right from the start.
Keen Games is currently celebrating another huge milestone: Enshrouded has more than 4 million active players playing their way through Embervale - and the trend is rising!
Enshrouded Thralls of Twilight Teaser
You thought the previous Shroud was a danger?
One of the biggest, if not the biggest danger lurks everywhere in Embervale: the Shroud. Although it has always posed an extraordinary threat, the new Enshrouded Thralls of Twilight update only makes it more apparent.
New dangers, exciting adventures, menacing creatures and, of course, new and rewarding items lurk in the Shroud, just waiting for you to discover them. An even darker atmosphere and an overhaul of the behavior of your opponents, including completely new threats, will let you get to know the Shroud in a new way.
- New enemies: With the Thralls of Twilight update, you will encounter new enemies who will make your life even more difficult. Keep a low profile, because otherwise ... d... d... did you ... hear ... that?
- Revised enemy behavior: Even the previously familiar enemies have undergone a complete overhaul. This ensures that you should never feel too safe in the Shroud
- Threatening Shroud: Sure, the Shroud has always been a threat, but Keen Games felt it was too easy, so they added more tension, which means more danger, excitement, atmosphere, but also rewards
- Further adventures: Dive into Enshrouded all over again. Discover new points of interest and secret locations and don't always proceed in a straight line - climbing and jumping are still crucial for exploration in Enshrouded
When night falls, you should be prepared
Enshrouded is of course even more mystical and atmospheric at night than in the bright light of the sun. But if you think Keen Games hasn't thought about how to make the night even more immersive and dynamic, you're absolutely wrong. The day-night cycle has also been greatly revised and expanded, ensuring that day and night in Enshrouded each last an hour in the real world.
But that's not all, even though the new Enshrouded night certainly has a noticeable effect. You'll encounter some special enemies in the dark moonlight that are actually just seeking shelter in the dark - and you're disturbing them. In addition, some enemies will be more sensitive to light, so be well prepared for the dark hours in Embervale.
- Special enemies: When night falls over Embervale, you must be prepared for special enemies who enjoy the darkness - but not so much on you
- Resources of the night: Of course, there is also a huge advantage to this, because at night you will be able to find new and special resources that are not around during the day
- Light element: By reworking the night as an important factor, light will also play a major role. Some enemies are attracted to it and become particularly attentive and other enemies even draw their strength from it
Refined weapons and dangerous forges
We can't even believe what Keen Games adds with every new Enshrouded update, but a new weapon system in which the weapons are upgraded thanks to the finest gemstones, giving them special abilities? Hell yeah!
Yes, you got that absolutely right and it's really no wonder that the Enshrouded community is literally freaking out about this innovation (and all the others, of course). With the Thralls of Twilight update, you'll be able to use gems in specific and very rare weapons, which will give them very individual abilities - which in turn will allow you to use individual weapons against specific enemies.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, it's not as easy as it sounds, because the gems have to be placed in these rare weapons somehow and you'll have to search for the new forges. These will be located in the dark areas of the Shroud, where all kinds of creatures are probably already waiting for you.
- Weapon customizations: The gems will of course give you the opportunity to customize your weapons according to your preferences. You will also be able to dismantle weapons with the update
- Special weapons: The previous and, of course, the new enemies all have their weaknesses and strengths. If you know them, you can use gems to build special weapons that are particularly strong against certain enemies
We've told you almost everything about the new weapon system with gems, but where do you get the gems and rare weapons with gem slots in Enshrouded? You can get the gems by defeating special enemies or by finding them in chests in the world of Embervale. We can't yet say exactly where the rare weapons will be found, but we would also guess that they will be found in battles against strong bosses or in chests. But that's not all, because the Enshrouded gems in your weapon level up with you as long as you actively use them in battle.
We are ready, but are you?
The Enshrouded Thralls of Twilight update will once again bring an incredible number of exciting new features to Embervale, so we don't even know what to look forward to the most. The new weapon customizations including gems will definitely be awesome and the revised Shroud will certainly not make us feel as strong as we once did. What is definitely strong and will help you even in the darkest Enshrouded night is the performance of the GPORTAL Enshrouded servers.
