Spawner in Minecraft
Minecraft is full of mobs designed to make your life harder, at least in survival mode. However, most of these creatures don't appear completely out of thin air.
The Minecraft Spawner: Here's how you can use them!
Instead, they come from the so-called spawners. Those are special blocks that you can find at certain points in the world. In this article, you'll learn how to find these mob creators and what they can do for you.
How to find a Minecraft Monster Spawner
You can only find spawners inside buildings. Depending on the type of building, the spawners create different monsters. In the following table, we show you what the different spawners look like, where you can find them and what monsters they can generate.
Every now and then, several spawners appear very close to each other. Most of the time, these are spawners from different buildings that just happen to appear together. For example, spawners from a dungeon and a mine sometimes pop up only a few blocks apart. Finding two blocks of the same type in the same place, however, is a true rarity.
How to make a Minecraft spawner work for you
H3 Mining spawners
For many players, the first reflex is to simply mine the spawner. This, of course, helps against the hordes of monsters. Especially if you want to upgrade the dungeon to a base, it's worth removing the spawn completely. If you are not well equipped yet, destroying the spawners is also helpful. Otherwise, you will be quickly overrun by the mobs. You will also get some experience points for destroying the block. Combined with the XP that the mobs give you, you'll quickly get to the next level.
Build a Minecraft Spawn Trap
If you want to get a lot of XP quickly, you can also build a spawn trap using a spawner. This is especially easy with spawners in the Nether. Simply remove everything around the spawner and place lava blocks around it instead. Now, when a monster spawns, it automatically falls into the lava and you get the XP.
This is, of course, a very simple form of spawn trap. Players have built countless variations of traps that generate XP for them over the years. Sometimes, these farms even work completely without the player. You just leave them alone for a while and come back later. Then, you can find so much XP that you can level up from level 1 to level 30 without any problems. Such farms are also a good insurance against losing XP from dying. Besides experience, you also get the drops of the monsters without having to work for them.
If you have found a spawner and want to keep it, then you should set up some lights around the block. The spawn of the monsters generally depends on the brightness around the block. For example, to spawn a zombie, the light level must not be higher than 7. By setting up 4 torches around a spawner, the block is practically blocked and does not generate new monsters. However, this does not apply to Blazes. They only need a light level of 11 or lower to spawn. Therefore, you should use 16 glowstones or jack-o'-lanterns here to secure these blocks.
If you want to use the spawners without destroying them, you have to resort to the light sources and cannot use something else. This is because spawners cannot be moved. Even the enchantment Silk Touch or the force of Pistons cannot move a Spawner Block from its place.
How does Mob Spawn Minecraft work?
Once you understand how spawners work, it's even easier to make them work for you. Spawners create mobs every 10 to 40 seconds. Whether the block generates one or more monsters depends on chance. However, the spawner cannot generate more than 4 enemies at a time.
A spawner needs space to create monsters. This space is 9x3x9 blocks, centered on the spawner. If something is built into this area, the spawner cannot create anything there. A base is not necessary for spawners, so you can damage the monsters with fall damage or lava. A spawner only becomes active when there is a player in an area of 16 blocks around it. The spawner also stops producing if there are too many mobs in the area around it. The size of this area is 9x9x9 blocks centered around the spawner, making it a bit larger than the space needed for creating the mobs.

Where do Endermen spawn?
Spawns create many of the familiar enemies in Minecraft. However, mobs like Endermen and Creepers are not dependent on spawners. These enemies can appear at any time in an area of 240x240 blocks around the player. Depending on the biome, special mobs that can't be found anywhere else can also appear. However, these spawns are difficult to influence. Enemies that can spawn around the player at any time include:
Aside from these, certain boss monsters have special spawn conditions. A wither spawn can only be done by assembling 4 blocks of soul sand or soul soil and 3 wither skeleton skulls. The Ender Dragon spawns automatically when the player enters The End for the first time.
