Ding Dong! Again a new patch for Sons of the Forest has been released and we take a look into what's new in the GPORTAL blog.

Note: here you can have a quick look at the previous Sons of the Forest Patch 12.

Building instructions and new enemies

In Sons of the Forest Patch 13 there are also new building instructions, which you can find and of course try out. Among them, for example, is a trap (Uber Trap) that consists mainly of some bones and first freezes the enemy with an electric shock, then burns them with fire, and finally inflicts physical damage by flipping up and trapping the enemy. Another new build is a kind of sofa or bench that is quite cozy made of meat, may smell weird but is surely comfortable …

There is also a new opponent and it is definitely not easy to deal with him. He is called Henry and his appearance gives you goosebumps on your arms, as he looks like he has been skinned and his flesh shines juicily in the shimmering sun that breaks through the trees. We recommend not to forget the sunscreen. Another important point about Henry: he is extremely aggressive and practically does not give you a break during the fight until you are on the ground. So attacks from a distance are definitely more suitable than going into close combat with Henry.

Reworked enemies and caves

Apart from the newly added enemy, previous enemies have also undergone an update. The twins, for example, from now on can not only find their way to you in the normal way, they will sometimes crawl out of the ground in caves and the forests without any warning, so always be on your guard. John2, the fleshy sausage with two heads, has also been reworked, as he finally can no longer (hopefully) glitch through walls, and now also triggers the Hokey-Pokey trap and radio alarm. Another change to the enemies is that normal puffies no longer drop mutant armor, but John2 now drops 2x directly instead.

The caves have not been left out with updates either, as the Rope Gun cave has had a new part added to it and holds a new mysterious item. The cave where you can find the golden armor and the rifle, meanwhile, has been extremely reworked and gives a whole new feel and more excitement. The rifle can now be found in a different place and especially the location of the golden armor is really cool and eye-catching.

Other new features in Sons of the Forest Patch 13

  • You can now use the silver tarps from the game as walls and roof. Build a basic wooden structure as usual and use the tarp as a wall instead of the wooden trunks
  • Next to the square table you can now build a round table
  • The item plating structure can now be destroyed by an attack like any other structure. If you do not want any damage to structures, you can simply turn this off in the settings
  • To put the Solafite in the item plating structure you no longer have to open the inventory, you can put it directly into the plating structure
  • The fishing huts have also been reworked and not only can you find new notes there, but Solafite is now findable without having to mine it
  • Numbering and tabs have been added to the book so you can hopefully find the guide you need faster
  • While hanging from the zipline, your character no longer jumps off too early and thus no longer suffers fall damage if, for example, you want to land on a platform but fall off first
  • There are a lot of new props in caves and the world, which make the game more and more expansive and spooky
