V Rising Gear Level: Get the maximum out of it
In V Rising, there are all kinds of NPCs who are no fun at all and have no great desire to be visited or even attacked by you. In order to make progress, however, you have to face the V Blood Bosses and for this you need the highest possible Gear Level.
What does the Gear Level mean in V Rising?
While in most other games you can gradually increase your level with experience points, things work a little differently in V Rising. Here there is the so-called Gear Level, which reveals your combat strength, made up of all your equipment. Every single item you wear has a Gear Level. V Rising then adds up the Gear Levels of all your equipment, i.e. your armor, your selected weapon and your jewelry.
You can always check your Gear Level in your inventory; you can see it next to the life bar on enemies. In the inventory, you can also see which item has which Gear Level by hovering over all the individual items you are wearing. It is important that you have a similar or even better Gear Level than the boss itself before you face the next area or V Blood Boss. The Gear Level says nothing against other players, but the damage you deal to NPCs depends on it. When you encounter an opponent, you should take a look at their life bar, as this will tell you whether it is already possible for you to defeat them. But if you see a skull instead of his level, you'd better get to your feet quickly, because that means he's still far too strong for you at the moment.
How to increase your Gear Level in V Rising
This is actually quite simple, as you "only" need to equip better items than your current ones. So better armor, better weapons and better jewelry. The easiest way to do this is to follow the quests in V Rising and keep tracking, hunting and, of course, killing new and, above all, stronger V Blood Bosses. These will unlock new recipes, which you can use to craft better armor and weapons, for example, and you will also sometimes receive recipes for better structures, which you can use to craft the improved weapons, etc. To make better weapons and armor, you sometimes need leather, iron and copper. You can find out how to craft leather in V Rising in our corresponding GPORTAL blog article. Of course, we also have a guide on how to make iron in V Rising.
Note: To mine certain ores, you need the right Gear Level, otherwise you will have to return to the castle empty-handed after the work is done.
You can create a basic version of all armor and weapons and then improve them using recipes and predetermined resources. Depending on how good your new equipment is, you can polish up your Gear Level quite quickly. The maximum Gear Level in V Rising is currently over 90, but we all know Stunlock Studios very well and can certainly look forward to the maximum Gear Level being raised again with further updates so that you can discover and experience even more.
