Halloween Ingame Events 2024
Spooktober is facing it's peak and with it lots of mischief and scares, including in our favorite games. We present the coolest Halloween events that you should definitely try out.
Abiotic Factor - “The Cult of Canaan“ Halloween Update
The retro survival shooter mix is incredibly popular with the community and has been given a pretty big Halloween update on October 10, in which you can go through a new portal to the spooky shores of Canaan ... and the best thing is, the content of the update is permanent and not just limited to the spooky season.
This new overworld region seems to be even nastier than the facility itself. There seems to be a sinister secret beneath the already unpleasant-looking surface. This means a lot of exploring, fighting monsters and having odd conversations with the local inhabitants. And of course there are also a few pumpkins for the perfect Halloween mood.
Quick facts about the update:
- “Canaan” as a new (spooky) region
- New weapons and enemies
- More lore and extended story
- New options for fishing
- Terrifying secrets to discover
- New Halloween recipes
- New placeable objects
- And more …
You can also find all information about the update in detail on the game's Steam page.
V Rising - Free “Haunted Night Castle Pack” + new content for Castlevania Premium Pack
Playstation players are the newest members of the V Rising community and they can rejoice because the “Haunted Night Castle Pack” is available for FREE on the PS Store from October 16 through November 16.
The DLC comes with some cool, spooky Halloween cosmetics for your castle to make it even spookier for the spooky season. Don't miss out.
And Stunlock Studios has another treat for players, as the “Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack” has been updated with NEW cosmetics and decorations for your castle. If you already own the DLC, you will have immediate access to the new additions. And if you don't have the DLC yet, you now get EVEN MORE content for your money. We can only warmly recommend the Castlevania Pack.
Valheim - “The Bog Witch”
Halloween time is witch time and the “Bog Witch” has arrived in Valheim, bringing spooky chills to the Viking world. Look for her in the swamps in her witch's house and maybe she has something for you to trade. There are also some cool new features and extras away from the witch that you should definitely try out.
Here is the most important information about the update:
- A new merchant (Bog Witch) and a new “ghost” event
- New “Feast” mechanic (large meals that can be shared with others) with 8 feasts
- 16 new crafting materials
- 8 new potions, 3 new clothing items
- 3 new skills (cooking, farming, crafting)

In the “Nights of the Living Duck” update, there are not only cool new hats for today's stylish duck and decorations for your home, but there are also vengeful poultry roaming around. Make sure you don't end up as an undead duckling yourself.
What you can expect in the update:
- New decorations
- New stylish hats
- A new sneaking mechanic
- Vengeful (duck) ghosts
- Buildings infected by bats (spooooohooooky)
- Lots of QoL improvements
- And more …
