How to get through the 7 Days to Die night
In the popular zombie survival game 7 Days to Die, there are an incredible number of dangers lurking for you and as soon as night falls, they increase even further. Find out what you can do at night in 7 Days to Die and how you can survive the dark hours relatively unscathed in the following blog article.
What makes the 7 Days to Die nights so dangerous
The biggest problem that befalls you at night is that, unlike during the day, the zombies can run during the night. So if you're just starting out in 7 Days to Die or don't have any advanced equipment yet, it's definitely advisable not to go out at night - however, we would generally always advise against going on fun adventure tours during 7 Days to Die nights, but it's a different story with opportunities that you can only take at night, more on that below.
To prevent boredom, zombies not only run faster, they can also hear or see you particularly well at night and their sudden increase in speed means they will pursue you relentlessly. Unlike you, because you can see less far and well at night and should therefore use a flashlight. So it's definitely a good idea to build up your base right from the start and keep improving it so that you are protected against all kinds of attacks and can defend yourself better. We already have a blog on the topic 7 Days to Die best armor and offer you exciting insights and helpful tips.
Can I skip the night?
If you're wondering whether it's possible to skip the 7 Days to Die night by simply going to sleep - unfortunately, that's not possible. You do have the option of making a kind of sleeping bag, but this only serves as a spawn point and cannot be used for sleeping. Before you start a new game, you can set the day and night cycles in the menu and also set the duration of the whole day. This will at least reduce the night time if it is not for you. If you are the server admin of your own 7 Days to Die server, you can also set the time of day and skip the night, but of course this is not the point of the game and takes away some of the excitement.
What you can do during the night
As soon as night falls and Navezgane largely disappears into darkness, you don't necessarily have to huddle in a corner and wait shivering for the night to finally pass. There are several things you can do to stay productive at night and improve your gaming experience:
- Crafting and repair: As long as the night lasts, you can use the time very well, especially to craft new items such as weapons or tools, or even repairing various items are a good idea at the time
- Base construction and expansion: The situation is similar with base construction and expansion. You can reinforce your walls, expand your base, set up traps and work on your other defenses. However, some of these points also require you to go outside, so you should be particularly careful and make sure you can always escape quickly. Base building and crafting and repairing your items are ideal for all kinds of preparations, which brings us to the next point
- Preparations: This will ensure you are well prepared for the Blood Moon Nights that will haunt you every 7 days. Reinforcing your base is not the only important thing here; crafting and repairing your weapons and producing sufficient ammunition are also essential topics that you can tackle at night
- Collect resources: If you prefer night-time adventures, you can of course also go outside and search for and mine resources, for example. Of course, important and frequently needed materials such as Iron and Coal in 7 Days to Die are ideal for this. Make sure, however, that you radiate heat, which can attract certain zombies, so be well prepared for a possible fight or escape
- XP farming and missions: Another rather blood pressure-raising option is XP farming during the night and completing night missions. If you are already well equipped, you can of course also make your way to POIs and complete missions that you receive from traders, for example, but which can only be completed at night. Of course, this is rather risky, but there are usually better and more valuable rewards waiting for you there
