Conan Exiles Age of Sorcery - what you need to know

With the Conan Exiles update Age of Sorcery, a lot of magic came into play. We already have a news here for you, which provides you with many details about the update. Since the update, you can cast magic and spells in Conan Exiles, but not in the way you probably know it from other games with spell interludes - in Age of Sorcery you cast dark powers, summon demons and can make yourself invisible.

How you can learn sorcery

At first, of course, you and your game character won't be able to do that much with sorcery in Conan Exiles Age of Sorcery, but that changes when you first meet new sorcerer NPCs. You'll have to slay one of these wizards to find a map, which in turn will lead you to a cave where you'll find the Book of Forbidden Knowledge.

Your first spell will be unlocked by this - you can learn more via the Thaumaturgy table. In order to cast the spells, you will need an old school magic wand, which you can also create on the Thaumaturgy table. The following spells are available:

• Nergal's Call: with this spell, you can summon a bat-demon that can grab you and carry you through the air over great distances
• Creeping Darkness: plunge your surroundings into the deepest black you've ever seen - wait... are those? Were those...? Spiders?
• Thunderstorm: summon a powerful thundercloud that shoots down with lightning bolts and attacks your enemies
• Rituals: they are an important point of magic and require dark ingredients to work. Bring a prisoner to the Sacrificial Stone and summon demonic mounts or raise the dead

Travel faster than ever

Also new since the Conan Exiles Age of Sorcery update is fast travel thanks to portals. You can spread them all over the map and ignite them. Unlike other games with fast travel via portals, in Conan Exiles Age of Sorcery you can enter a portal and then choose which location you want to travel to. Note, however, that you'll get a debuff that will make sure you can't travel again immediately.

Corruption sees all

Of course, all this sounds great and makes gameplay a lot of fun, but there is a dark force in Age of Sorcery: the Corruption. It covers you like a big shadow and becomes more and more oppressive with every spell and every bigger fast travel. As the corruption grows over your character, maximum health and stamina decrease.

If the corruption continues to devour you, you can use the Corruption Points to buff your Strength, Vitality, and Authority. If you don't want to give in to Corruption, you can purge yourself of it - but you should ask yourself if you really want to give up your new abilities.

Everything changes in the creative and building mode

The developers always had to take a lot of criticism for the building mode in Conan Exiles, as it didn't really run smoothly - but that's history since the Age of Sorcery update. The previous building mode has been completely reworked and now feels really good. Also new is the creative mode, where you can play around as much as you want. Best of all, while you are building in Creative Mode, the real Conan Exiles world freezes, you take no damage, and you can go high into the air to create truly breathtaking and gigantic structures.

Battle Pass and Bazaar

The developers of Conan Exiles are making the Age of Sorcery update available completely free of charge and include a Battle Pass and the Bazaar for it. Thanks to the Battle Pass, you can unlock playable items or buy some cosmetic things in the Bazaar - the main thing that stands out is that everything is aimed at Black Magic. Mystical and dark like the Age of Sorcery Update for Conan Exiles itself.

Bounty hunting and Witch hunting

The newly arrived sorcery in Conan Exiles has of course not only made you and us take notice. Some new characters have found their way to the Exiles and are looking for fearless heroes like you. They have some missions in store for you - seek them out in their camps and earn respect and rewards by accepting the Bounty Hunts. It doesn't matter if you deliver the hunted dead or alive.

Also new since the Age of Sorcery - Chapter 2 update are Witch Hunts. These consist of you having to fight and of course defeat one of the four sorcerers. These can be quite difficult fights, but the rewards provide the necessary incentive.

New Battle Pass and more in the Bazaar

Also in the Conan Exiles Age of Sorcery - Chapter 2 update, you will of course find new items in the Bazaar and thanks to the new Battle Pass. New armor, new weapons, new building parts and more. In addition to that, you'll also find new challenges related to Witch Hunting and Bounty Hunting.

Age of Sorcery - Chapter 3 is just around the corner
