Conan Exiles Obelisk Locations and Function
Have you ever wondered what those strange structures are that you come across from time to time in Conan Exiles, surrounded by purple mist? The so-called Obelisks can be used for fast travel in Conan Exiles - but you have to be careful, as the mysterious mist holds danger.
What is the purpose of the Obelisks?
As you have already learned above, these eye-catching structures made of dark stone are primarily used for fast travel in Conan Exiles. The Obelisks are spread across the huge map of Conan Exiles and sometimes require more and sometimes less effort to reach them.
The gloomy purple mist that surrounds the Obelisks not only seems intimidating and threatening - it actually is. If you approach an Obelisk, you should be careful, otherwise you can catch Corruption through the mist, and getting rid of it is truly no easy task.
The Map Room
Especially in the further progress of the game, after you have explored the world of Conan Exiles for a while, Obelisks are clearly a welcoming solution to be able to travel faster. As you approach an Obelisk, you will notice that you can attach your bracelet to it - if you now build a Map Room, you can access any Obelisk in Conan Exiles from there and travel to its location. However, note that Obelisks are effectively a one-way ticket, as you cannot use them as a way back. If you want to learn more about the Map Room, take a look at our Conan Exiles Map Room Guide here.
Conan Exiles Obelisk Locations
Below you can find all locations of the ten Obelisks:
Dagon's Eye Obelisk
In the forgotten city of Xel-Ha you will find an obelisk in the jungle on the top of a hill at the ruins of Dagon's Eye. However, getting there is not that easy, as there are some aggressive monsters and enemies waiting in the jungle for you.
Upper Staging Area obelisk
Also in the jungle you will find another Obelisk, which is located on a raised platform. At this Obelisk you should also pay attention to the lurking dangers in the form of crocodiles, snakes and especially numerous spiders.
The Sinkhole Obelisk
In the center of the desert you can find an Obelisk, which is placed very conspicuously at the huge Sinkhole Ruins and is therefore impossible to miss.
Unnamed City Obelisk
In the Unnamed City you will find the Archives in the underground and if you are on your way to the Archivist anyway, you can activate the Obelisk in the same go, but watch out for hostile enemies in the area.
Shattered Springs Obelisk
The Obelisk in the Shattered Springs is located in malodorous surroundings, as there are large sulfur springs there. The location of the Obelisk is directly on the way to Klael's Stronghold and you should stay away from there for now if you are not in the mood for a hard fight.
Black Keep Obelisk
This Obelisk is also surrounded by hostile and strong enemies. There is a lot of snow and frost waiting for you, so you should be warmly clothed to be able to withstand the area. Near the Ruins of Xullan you will find the Obelisk next to the black tower, and there are really dangerous creatures lurking everywhere.
Temple of Frost Obelisk
Also in the snowy area, you will find an Obelisk located very close to the Temple of Frost dungeon. Again, be aware of your surroundings and hostile enemies that are just waiting for some fresh meat like you.
Path of the Penitent Obelisk
One of the most difficult Obelisks to reach seems to be this one, because it is located directly on a volcano and the way up to it is really tedious. It is recommended to visit this Obelisk only when you are already well advanced in Conan Exiles, as it is essential to carry suitable armor against cold and to carry some cooling food.
The Dregs Obelisk
Directly above the entrance to the Dregs Dungeon you will find this Obelisk after a quick search. Fight your way through the guards of the dungeon entrance and then attach your bracelet to the second last obelisk of our list.
Mounds of the Dead Obelisk
In the pond of the north you can find this Obelisk on a high plateau - it is recommended to take the path through the swampy pond, as many hostile creatures are waiting for you on the burial mounds.
Tips for the obelisks
- Try to visit the Obelisks in the Unnamed City and the Shattered Springs in the beginning, because they can greatly increase your abilities with, for example, the Archivist and the Sulfur
- Later in the game, you may gradually visit the Obelisks near the dungeons to test your skills and obtain valuable items and recipes
- We mentioned above that you can take Corruption from the mysterious purple mist - you can mitigate this by placing an Entertainer Thrall nearby, or if you are not carrying one, simply drink a so-called Cleansing Brew.
