What's inside the Enshrouded Back to the Shroud update

New difficulty levels and settings

Enshrouded players have been asking for it for a long time and now the time has come: you can now choose from various difficulty levels in the in-game settings and on your server to create the gaming experience you desire. You can choose between the following difficulty levels:

• Default: This option is especially recommended for completely new players in Enshrouded
• Relaxed: This mode is the best choice if you are less keen on battles and enemy opponents. If you want to concentrate on building bases, for example, you can get even more resources here
• Hard: This mode is almost the opposite of Relaxed. Here you will encounter more enemies and they are extremely aggressive and strong - so if you want to test your combat skills, here you go!
• Survival: Similar to hard, but with the additional options that you now have to watch your hunger and lose your backpack if you die
• Custom: Here you can create your own game mode by choosing from any of the 30 presets and customizing them to your liking

Collectibles and exhibition pieces

New features in Enshrouded include shelves that you can use to display newly found objects such as fossils. Or you can showcase your hard-earned armor sets, which you can display on newly built structures - this also applies to your weapons. These can also be displayed on weapon stands in your base for others to enviously scrutinize. As well as adding a personal touch, you can also show off everything you have already achieved in Enshrouded.

Create your character

With the brand new options you can use for your character, you can conjure up your very own, individualized game character. The Enshrouded Back to the Shroud update gives you several new ways to customize your character:

• Skin color
• Eye color
• Eyebrow color
• 6 more new preset characters if you don't feel like customizing your character yourself and just want to get started in Enshrouded

Other new features of the update

• Revised crafting menu with larger images and simplified navigation
• Improved and also revised POIs
• Improved blocking and parrying (with the right timing, you can even parry multiple enemies at the same time)
• Work on class balancing - the mage has been reworked with more comfortable handling of wands, better survivability and higher effectiveness in the early game
• XP adjustment: You now need more XP to level up in the later game
• Upgrading weapons has become more expensive, so think carefully about which weapon you want to upgrade
• After your death, the tombstone can now actually hold all the items in your backpack
• You can now drop torches when sneaking so that you are really inconspicuous when traveling
• Epic and legendary daggers now have poison damage
• Stone fences can now be moved and placed freely in non-snapping mode

Further updates and mysterious island

Keen Games definitely sees the players of Enshrouded and is working hard to implement the feedback. We can certainly expect some new features in future releases and Keen Games has already announced that they are working on further updates. By the way, if you open your eyes wide and take a close look to the east of Blackmire, you will have noticed the new floating island - we are extremely excited to see if and what we can expect with it.
