The best crops in FS25
You have an incredibly large selection of crops in Farming Simulator 25. But in this blog, we'll take a closer look at which of them are the best in terms of yield, growth and effort and explain how to grow and care for them optimally.
Wheat for first and stable profits
Let's move on to the first crop, which will probably also be your first choice as soon as you start working in the fields in Farming Simulator 25. Before you start sowing, however, you must of course have a field and it must be prepared. You don't need a specific machine for sowing, a simple seed drill will suffice. Once your wheat is planted, you don't have to worry too much about maintaining the wheat field, but you can try to increase the yield.
Wheat needs to be planted in July or August and harvested immediately afterwards in September and October. Not only does this mean a bit of time pressure, you will of course have to wait almost a year before you can grow wheat again - unless of course you are playing without seasonal growth. After the harvest, you can obtain straw as a by-product of wheat, as well as any other type of grain. The highest selling price for wheat is in January and is usually between €1,100-1,200 per 1,000 liters. Of course, you can also process the wheat if you are interested in the Farming Simulator 25 production chains. A mill and a bakery would be useful to significantly increase your profits.
Double the fun with spinach
Spinach is one of the most valuable of the new FS25 crops, and it's not just because you can harvest it twice. The short growth phase and high yield are two other things that make spinach very attractive in Farming Simulator 25. Once you have prepared your field well, you can plant the seeds, ideally in early March, so that you can benefit from the double harvest.
The first harvest is then likely to take place in June or July, or in September and October for the second harvest - but you can harvest spinach all year round. After you have harvested the spinach a second time, you need to plow up the field, prepare it and plant the spinach. For the harvest, however, you need a special harvesting machine from Oxbo for over €600,000. You can of course sell the spinach directly or use the canning factory to pack it in bags to increase your yield.
Big profits for advanced farmers with sugar beet and potatoes
If you are no longer a complete beginner and have already spent some time on your farm in Farming Simulator 25, you might want to keep an eye on sugar beet and potatoes. Even if you need special and not exactly cheap machines for both varieties, the investment and work is definitely worth it. In FS25, sugar beet is a profitable crop and the first thing you need is a special seed drill - a precision seeder to be exact. Once your field is perfectly prepared and cleared of anything that could reduce the yield, it's time to plant the sugar beet. Sowing is scheduled for March and April and harvesting for October and November. Once again, you have a range of harvesting equipment at your disposal, which you should choose according to your taste and plans. You can of course sell the directly harvested sugar beets, or you can pass them on to the sugar mill and, as a third option, you can process them into sugar beet pulp, which in turn is sold to biogas plants. To produce the sugar beet pulp, you need another machine, the Ruby 2000 from Fliegl.
If sugar beet is not enough work, cost and gray hair for you, you can try your hand at potatoes. Here, too, you will need a basic set of different machines in the mid 6-figure range. You can plant potatoes from March to April and harvest them from August to September. However, the highest selling price is only in December, so you have to store them or process them in the soup factory to make potato soup or in the potato factory to make potato chips - for this, however, oil is urgently needed.
Much-loved oil from sunflowers or rapeseed
We've just teased it and we're already in the middle of it: oil. Here, too, you need a precision planter for rapeseed and sunflowers. Same game as always, prepare the field well, plant the plants and wait until they are ripe. After the harvest, you can of course sell both types directly, but by processing the rapeseed and sunflowers in the oil mill in the FS25, you can again significantly increase your profit. The oil from the processed crops is used for potato chips, for example. Sunflowers can sell for up to just under €2,400, while sunflower oil can fetch up to over €6,000 - rapeseed oil is around €5,700.
Cotton - an exclusive option
The last “crop” we would like to introduce to you is cotton. You can really make a lot of profit with cotton, but you also have to invest a lot. The harvesting machine for FS25 cotton alone costs €485,000 or €847,000. The cotton is grown really early, because you can plant it as early as February. You then have to wait 8 months for the harvest and can sell it directly for a maximum of just under €4,000 per 1,000 liters or you can use the three other and much more profitable options:
- Spinnery: here the cotton is processed into fabric, which in turn earns a maximum of just under €15,000, but can also be passed on to the tailor shop
- Tailor Shop: here the fabric is made into clothing, which can fetch a fabulous maximum of just under €32,000 at the perfect time
- Rope Maker: the rope maker is also happy to receive cotton, where ropes are made that can be sold for just under €16,000 at the best time
Successful farming thanks to the powerful GPORTAL FS25 server
Of course, it is difficult to give a general answer as to which crop is the best and everyone should decide for themselves. Grains such as wheat or barley are ideal for stable and quick profits, especially when starting out, so that you can invest in your progress. If you have already built up a large farm and are interested in production chains, then sunflowers, rapeseed, potatoes and cotton are of course particularly interesting. No matter what you decide, GPORTAL is at your side with high-performance servers!
