Defeat the Palworld Blazamut Ryu Raid Boss
The first major Palworld update was released in April of this year and included numerous new features as well as the first raid boss called Bellanoir. With the Sakurajima update, the time has come to defeat the second Palworld Raid Boss Blazamut Ryu. This guide should help you to avoid burning your fingers on him, because it's going to be fiery.
How to summon Blazamut Ryu
Just as with the first raid boss Bellanoir, you must first summon the second raid boss Blazamut Ryu in Palworld so that you can see him at all. To summon Blazamut Ryu, you will again need a Summoning Altar, which you can unlock in the Technology Menu from level 33 for 3 Ancient Technology Points. You will need the following raw materials to craft the Palworld Summoning Altar:
- 100x Stone
- 20x Paldium Fragment
Before you simply place the Summoning Altar somewhere in your base, you should make sure that you either place the altar in a very large and free area in one of your existing camps or, ideally, build another camp that is completely free of any other buildings and structures. The fight against Blazamut Ryu and Bellanoir is very wide-ranging and, above all, the various attacks are extensive, which means that all nearby structures are destroyed in a matter of seconds.
Blazamut Ryu Slab Fragment Locations
Searching for and finding the Blazamut Ryu Slab Fragments is also known from the first Palworld Raid Boss Bellanoir. If you need a guide for Bellanoir and the other two versions, you are welcome to take a look at the corresponding GPORTAL blog article. You will also need four of the fragments to make the Blazamut Ryu Slab. You can find the Slab Fragments on Sakurajima Island, more precisely in the island's dungeons. However, you should only march into the dungeons very well prepared and with high level and strong Pals, as there are numerous opponents waiting for you who, in addition to having little mercy, also have quite high levels. If you manage to fight your way through a dungeon, with a bit of luck Blazamut Ryu's Slab Fragments will be waiting for you in purple boxes at the end. However, you may not receive any Slab Fragments at all, in which case you will of course have to fight your way through the dungeons until you have collected four Slab Fragments. There are two different Slabs you can make for Blazamut Ryu:
- Blazamut Ryu Slab: This is the normal Blazamut Ryu Slab, which you can use to summon a level 55 Blazamut Ryu. On the Slab is a sign that glows purple and is reminiscent of Blazamut Ryu's head
- Blazamut Ryu (Ultra) Slab: As with the raid boss Bellanoir, Blazamut Ryu has an Ultra Slab that also summons a level 55 Blazamut Ryu, but it also has twice as many health points - that's over 1 million! You only have 10 minutes for both battles, so it's going to be pretty sporty. The Ultra Slab is only distinguished by the purple flames that can be seen underneath it. You can only get it after a successful fight against Blazamut Ryu
Summon Blazamut Ryu
After you have built the summoning altar and collected all four Blazamut Ryu Slab Fragments, it's time to face Blazamut Ryu. Assemble the four fragments on a workbench to form the Blazamut Ryu Slab and place it in the Summoning Altar. Now there's no turning back, Blazamut Ryu is summoned and all you can do now is face him and hopefully defeat him.
In the fight against the Palworld Raid Boss Blazamut Ryu
Since the fight against the second raid boss Blazamut Ryu is no walk in the park and obtaining the Slab Fragments was already fraught with all kinds of risk, here are a few tips on Blazamut Ryu's attacks and strengths.
Blazamut Ryu's strengths and weaknesses
- Blazamut Ryu is of the fire and dragon type
- He already has 500,000 health points in the normal version, which makes it difficult to defeat him in 10 minutes
- The Palworld Blazamut Ryu Ultra version even has over 1,000,000 health points
- Despite his size, he is very agile and maneuverable, which means that you have to pay attention to his attacks and, at best, dodge them so that he doesn't get you
- As soon as Blazamut Ryu has only 1 health point left, he transforms into an electro-pal and regenerates a third of his health points
- Be sure to dodge his attacks, as they cause an enormous amount of fire damage Some attacks, such as his comet strike, are announced for a short time and warn you where he is about to strike
- In the early stages of the fight, you can make use of powerful water pals and after Blazamut Ryu has transformed, you can use ground pals, which are strong enough against his electric attacks
Which Pals and weapons to use against Blazamut Ryu
Even though Blazamut Ryu is really strong and the fight against him should not be taken lightly, there are of course some tactics and preparations that can definitely make it easier for you. Strong water pals such as Croajiro, Suzaku Aqua and of course Jormuntide are particularly suitable as pals to start with - the last water pal is particularly suitable as it also has a certain resistance to fire attacks. Azurobe is also a water pal that should definitely be in your team, because in addition to powerful attacks, you can ride on it and thus move back and forth more quickly.
As soon as Blazamut Ryu switches to electric attacks, your water pals are practically useless and ground-type pals should take over the fight, as otherwise your water pals will take an unnecessary amount of damage that they can't counter anyway. Menasting Terra and Anubis would be a good choice here.
As well as keeping your distance and always keeping a watchful eye out for Blazamut Ryu's next attacks, it's a good idea to have suitable weapons so that you can also deal him a lot of damage. You need something with high damage and range, and of course you should also have enough ammunition for the weapons. The Gatling Gun, an Assault Rifle or even a Rocket Launcher would be a good choice to inflict damage on Blazamut Ryu from a safe distance. Take advantage of the little breaks he takes when he has been dealt a lot of damage in a short space of time. In addition to weapons, good equipment is also important, and you can use the brand-new Palworld ultrashield for example. You can find out how the shield is made with the help of Plasteel in Palworld and how you can get the right saddle for Blazamut Ryu in the linked GPORTAL blog article.
Discover what loot awaits you after the battle
Don't worry, even if the battle and the summoning of Blazamut Ryu alone is a gigantic mammoth task, the loot you receive after a successful battle is definitely worth the effort. You will receive the following items as loot:
- Medium Pal Soul
- Power Lotus (for crafting remedies)
- Ruby
- Ancient Civilization Parts
- Precious Claw (can be sold to merchants for a nice amount of gold)
- Coal
- Training Crystal (can increase the level of a Pal by 1)
- Blazamut Ryu (Ultra) Slab
- Huge Dragon Egg (can be used to breed Blazamut Ryu, because you can't catch him)
The following additional items are dropped by Blazamut Ryu Ultra:
- Diamond
- Stout Fruit (increases the defense of one of your Pals)
- Speed Lotus (for the production of elixirs)
- Life Lotus (also for the production of elixirs)
Blazamut Ryu skills and abilities
Not only is the fight against the raid boss Blazamut Ryu worthwhile, Blazamut Ryu also cuts a fine figure as a Pal that complements your entire team - of course, you have to let him hatch from the huge dragon egg. As soon as you can count a Blazamut Ryu in your team, you have a really strong support at your side. In addition to his incredibly powerful fire attacks, he naturally also has the strength of a dragon. And it can even be used as a mount. You will need the following resources for the Blazamut Ryu saddle:
- 60x Paldium Fragment
- 50x Flame Organ
- 30x Leather
- 30x Plasteel
If you are sitting on a Blazamut Ryu, the dragon attacks are increased. Now that you can take a look at all the abilities of the powerful fire and dragon Pal, you will quickly realize why Blazamut Ryu is so incredibly fast in battle. He has the following very strong passive abilities:
- Runner: Increases his speed by 20%
- Swift: Increases his speed by 30%
- Legend: Increases his speed by 15%, his defense by 20% and his attack by 20%
- Infinite Stamina: His maximum stamina is increased by 50%
- Musclehead: Increases his attack by 30%, decreases his work speed by 50%
- Divine Dragon: Increases the damage of dragon attacks by 20%
- Serenity: Cooldown of active ability increased by 30% and attack increased by 10%
Since Blazamut Ryu is more of a legendary fighting machine, you will probably use him less as a working Pal in your camp. However, if you are interested in using a Pal that has level 4 mining and level 3 fire generation, then Blazamut Ryu is exactly what you are looking for.
