V Rising Guide: Building a Castle in V Rising
Besides the important point of crafting, it is also very important in V Rising to build your castle and improve it optimally, because not only does your own castle protect you from attacks and the burning sun - it is also the figurehead of your vampire for other players.
Finding and clearing the building site
First of all, it is important to find a good building site for your castle. On a PvE server it is advisable to build near all kinds of resources, trees and enemies, so that you can level up your equipment and therefore yourself as quickly as possible. If you are playing on a PvP server, it is better to build your castle in a secluded area, so that all kinds of players don't constantly try to get into your castle and steal your items.
If you have found a building site that suits you, you must clear it of all kinds of junk, trees, stones, etc., otherwise you will not be able to build your castle. Also note that you cannot place any building elements on water.
The Castle Heart and Borders
Now it is time to place the so-called Castle Heart on your building site. This is best placed in the center of your building project so that you can spread out and grow in all directions as the game progresses to expand your castle. To build the Castle Heart, all you need is 240x Stone and 30x Blood Essence.
In V Rising, you must now set boundaries within which you can place your first walls and objects. Make sure to keep the borders as small as possible, especially in the beginning, and therefore create a rather small construction area, but at the same time it should be big enough to be able to build all kinds of objects that you can produce as a vampire and advance in the game.
Coffin and Mist Braziers
Next, it is recommended to build a coffin and a Mist Brazier. The coffin ensures that if you die you can choose to respawn there, this is especially handy if you don't want to go all the way back to your castle without items. Additionally, it protects you from attacks of all kinds, even when you're offline.
The Mist Brazier is important so that you can block the sunlight as much as possible and not suffer any damage from the sun's rays. The Mist Braziers are fueled with bones, you can get these from several sources, which one is particularly suitable for this you can find out here in our V Rising Beginner Guide.
To make a Wooden Coffin you need 180x wood, to make a Stone Coffin you need 20x Stone Brick and 6x Grave Dust and to make a Mist Brazier you need 120x Stone.
Chests and the Blood Altar
Chests are a good way to hide your belongings from enemies and keep them organized. Note, however, that enemies can also steal chests completely and therefore steal the items they contain. To be sure that this will not happen, you should always carry important items with you.
Since you want to progress in V Rising, you will have to deal with the various bosses at some point. To do this, you need a blood altar, which, once activated, will show you the way to a boss by reddish and bloody clouds of mist. To make the Blood Altar you need 180x Stone and 10x Blood Essence.
Putting a roof on your castle
Admittedly: putting a roof on your castle in V Rising requires some advanced playtime, because palisade walls are not suitable for it. So if you want to place the highly desired roof, you will have to replace all the walls with reinforced walls made of stone bricks and planks.
Now you need to lay out the floor and make sure that your castle is a self-contained room, which means that there should be no unlocked walls where enemies could sneak past. If you have fulfilled all the requirements, the roof will automatically appear on your castle - congratulations! You have now unlocked the greatest security and absolute protection from the sun.
